Velassaru houses 5 beautiful restaurants which very different built styles and menus. From European classic cuisines to Japanese Tepanyaki and Asian dishes, they have all under one roof. Vela is the main restaurant that provides delicious food with cooking stations attached and also bears the kid’s menu list. The imported meats and local seafood are definitely a heavenly meltdown in the mouth.

None of the restaurants at the resort is operated for all three meals. The main restaurant Vela is open only for a breakfast buffet and dinner. Breakfast is offered with salads, toasts, and specially prepared omelets, soups, and pastries. All international and local Maldivian cuisine is available.

Pizzeria, a restaurant by the swimming pool deck, and the Turquoise which basically is a beach restaurant are the only two restaurants in the Velassaru resort for having lunch. They have an excellent à la carte menu with different cuisines to taste. There are several other restaurants that will only have a dinner menu.

Etesian is a restaurant specializing in Mediterranean cuisine that has dim lights, wooden floors, and a wine rack. It has some tables on the beach sands too if the guests wish to have outdoor dinner in the white sands.

The bars which serve the best house beers, soft drinks, and spirits are the Fen bar and the Chill bar at Velassaru. The Fen bar is open all day with a beautiful modern lounge setting and a good choice of whiskeys to enjoy. The Chill Bar is close by to the water bungalows and the cocktails, wines offered are surreal with the view of the sunset.

Activities

The resort has an exclusive dive center, that is operated by Silver Sands. They have internationally recognized PADI diving courses that are suitable for ones who prefer deep-diving into the waters. Also, a photography lounge is situated next to the Fem bar where the guests can have 30 minutes of complimentary photograph sessions and a complimentary 15x20cm digital photograph.

Snorkeling is another interesting way to explore the reefs underwater. But it is advisable to experience them inside the walls of the lagoon for a safer side as there are strong currents to be cautious beyond the lagoon area. How to reach the resort from Male Airport?

To reach the hotels in Beachwood hotel and spa, Maafushi Island, a public ferryboat OR chartered speedboat can be arranged by the hotel for which payment will be collected upon check-in or through the travel agencies that you will be booking with. Please contact the hotel to book your transfer arrangement at least 3 days prior to your arrival. Your arrival and departure flight details and full names of the traveling parties will be required.

From Male, the ferry departs at 3:00 pm, and from Maafushi Island, the Ferry departs at 07:30 am. 4. Suite

How to reach the hotel?

Bliss Dhigurah is located around 97 km from the airport. After reaching the Male International Airport, it takes about 55-60 minutes to reach. The mode of transfer from the airport to the hotel is a domestic flight which is taken internally and drops it at the nearby airport after which you will have to take a speedboat to reach the hotel which is about a 20-25 minutes ride.
